The right to dual-boot: Linux groups plead case... →
Not that it will stop anyone, but this whole secure booting thing is pretty hokey. So I'm writing an adult version of Alice's...
I know that Alice’s is probably one of the most rewritten stories ever, but to my knowledge there’s never been a version this dark before. It’s not quite to the level of Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty I don’t think… probably more along the lines of Brom’s take on Peter Pan.

Steve Jobs' opinion of President Obama:
At a meeting with the president in 2010, Mr. Jobs told Mr. Obama bluntly that he was going to be a one-term president, Mr. Isaacson says, and that he needed to be more friendly to businesses. Mr. Jobs told Mr. Isaacson he was disappointed in Mr. Obama because the president did not want to offend anyone, a quality that Mr. Jobs conceded he lacked. ...

My mom even played the Ouija board and Bloody Mary...
darkthoughtsbrightdays: My mom did too, but ouija boards scare me… If you had an oldschool wooden one, that would be pretty interesting to see. It just seems cheap and silly to me to have all these plastic $10 Parker Brothers boards now… I certainly can’t take them seriously.

Thirteen Observations made by Lemony Snicket while...
1. If you work hard, and become successful, it does not necessarily mean you are successful because you worked hard, just as if you are tall with long hair it doesn’t mean you would be a midget if you were bald. 2. “Fortune” is a word for having a lot of money and for having a lot of luck, but that does not mean the word has two definitions. 3. Money is like a child—rarely unaccompanied. When...

Android is fleshed out enough these days that I can’t really see running into too many problems. The only thing it usually doesn’t have that I’d want is mouse support, which the Transformer happens to have. Hmmm…

Louisiana prohibits residents from using cash when...
Besides prohibiting the use of cash, the law also requires such “dealers” to collect personal information like name, address, driver’s license number, and license plate number from every single customer, and submit it to authorities. And the only acceptable form of payment in such situations is a personal check, money order, or electronic transfer, all of which must be...
